Lara’s birth induction with preeclampsia
Preeclampsia is when your blood pressure rises in pregnancy to very high levels putting both yours and your baby’s health at risk.
The usual course of action if your symptoms are worsening and you are within or around your estimated due dates is to induce labour.
Hypnobirthing can be used for any type of labour and Lara uses her skills and knowledge perfectly for her birth.
She remained calm throughout and credits it for her positive birth experience.
Lara was born on 8th December.
Unfortunately we didn’t get to use the Birthing suite as planned. I was diagnosed with Preeclampsia at my 40 week check up.
I was induced and she arrived via a ventouse delivery after I had an epidural. It all went really well considering and she’s amazing! We are very much in love.
I was listening to Hypnobirthing every night before going to bed and I definitely think it helped me keep calm throughout the entire birthing process. There was a point where they had to remove the Propess as my baby’s heart rate dropped. This was definitely the worst moment of the whole experience, but thankfully I didn’t panic as I reckon it could’ve been worse for my baby.
Fortunately I dilated quite quickly after this and they didn’t need to use a different measure of inducing me.
I just wanted to thank you and let you know how it went for me. I will definitely recommend others to Hypnobirthing as I felt that it helped me to remain calm and in control even with everything going on.
