How does Hypnotherapy work?

When in hypnosis you are not asleep but merely very relaxed. It is a little like looking at a broad painting full of detail but then being able to bring one part of it to the foreground for closer examination. The rest of the painting does not disappear, it just sits in the background until needed.

Hypnotherapy or Hypnosis is a collaborative effort. Nobody can be hypnotised against their will. Instead, as your therapist, I merely guide you to a state of deep relaxation referred to as somnambulism. Once there, although it becomes easier to alter mental blueprints and belief systems, you cannot be made to do anything against your will nor will you ever lose control of your behaviour.

Hypnotherapy is a highly respectful therapy, it is non-voyeuristic, gentle - healing and empowering. It is effective for a whole range of problems and issues but in this course it really zeros in on reducing the anxiety and stress that you have been suffering.

  • Please listen to your hypnosis recordings every night as you go to sleep. Listen to each one for at least 3 nights in a row before switching to the next recording.

    Once you have worked through them all you can choose which feels most appropriate to you and then continue to listen to that.(Clearly, if you do not suffer from OCD then you can skip that recording).

    Look for the small shifts in your behaviour and notice how you feel over the next few weeks to guide you in your listening.

  • Yes! Absolutely!Just relax and let the hypnosis take the strain. If you fall asleep your unconscious mind is still listening. So please don’t worry and relax in the best way that works for you. The recordings will still work even if you don’t actually remember them.
