No Is A Complete Sentence.

'When I say NO it doesn't mean convince me!
It doesn't mean belittle me.
It doesn't mean coerce me.
You can ask why if you like, but I really don't have to tell you.
I owe you nothing.'

In birth and in pregnancy we see many women being railroaded into making decisions that perhaps they did not wish to make.
Women who have done their research, who have carefully made their plans, who have clearly staked their claim being negated in decision making processes and being worn down by persistent nagging and hassling.

If you do not wish to follow a piece of advice or if you do not wish to follow a hospital protocol then you need to learn to say 'NO' clearly.

This isn't about you. This isn't personal.
Just sit up or stand up straight. Make clear eye-contact. Shoulders back. Take up some physical space. Breathe and just clearly say NO.

Draw a very firm line under any further discussions.
